The model attached is a tissue engineering scaffold for meniscus, aimedat supporting R&D taks connected to the repair and regeneration of kneearticular cartilage problems. The representative half-moon geometryusual of human meniscus is filled with a porous network conceived forproviding structural support to cells growing within the scaffold. Inturn, after cells colonizing the scaffold, the porous network supportsthe access to nutrients and the elimination of debris. In parallel tothe healing process, an ideal scaffold printed with an optimaltechnology and material, would be absorbed by the body and substitutedby the extracellular matrix generated by the cells involved in therepair and regeneration process.
